I hate blog posts that start with “Welcome to..” Hello seemed like a better option because we want this to be a conversation, just like a decent blog should be.
The Omnium blog is intended to be a public conversation between all of those involved in The Omnium Project as well as with the many hundreds and thousands of people we have come in contact with during the course of the many projects we have run, through the Omnium interfaces we have set-up and licensed to various groups over the years, all of those members of the Omnium Creative Network, and many others we have met along the way.
This blog is long overdue. As you might imagine, a lot of the communication between the group happens online, but we recently met together when presenting a seminar at the Berlin Online-Educa conference and had many inspiring and inspired conversations together, working out what our future plans were and testing our ideas and opinions on each other. These ranged from online education through the future of education to the future of the planet.
Each of us in the Omnium Project has an area that we focus on, but we have many overlaps and shared passions. We have had a lot of very enthusiastic to our presentations and ideas over the years and we realised that we really needed to share our late-night conversations with others more widely and not always in academic papers - after all, who reads those? (They’re here by the way).
So, the Omnium blog is that window onto those conversations. It’s an open window, so feel free to give us a shout. It maybe stepping late onto the blogging train, but we helped build the track for online creative collaboration and conversations eight years ago, we’ve just been a bit busy to blog about it.
