I was listening to one of the recordings of my Iyengar Yoga teacher from Australia today. She’s very renowned and has been practising and teaching for over 30 years. She also teaches teachers, which is why she made this comment:
“The art of teaching is to say something complicated in simple way”
It struck me that this is probably at the heart of all good teaching and teachers, not just in Yoga of course. But it also struck me that a great deal of research paper writers seem to take the opposite approach, saying something simple in the most complicated way they can. There should be no shame in an idea expressed simply, it takes a lot of skill to do it.
